Description

At Capco, we specialise in providing high-quality equipment for precise material testing and sample preparation. Our Sulphur Capping Frame is expertly designed for the efficient and accurate capping of concrete test specimens using molten sulphur, ensuring level and uniform surfaces for compressive strength testing.

Engineered with precision and safety in mind, this robust capping frame is an essential tool in any concrete testing laboratory. Whether you’re working in civil engineering, construction materials testing, or research environments, Capco’s capping frame streamlines the sulphur capping process, allowing for consistent and dependable results.

Why Use Sulphur Capping?

Sulphur capping is a widely accepted method for preparing concrete specimens for compressive strength testing. The purpose of capping is to create smooth, even surfaces on both ends of a cylindrical sample to ensure uniform load distribution during testing. This method uses molten sulphur (often combined with filler materials like calcium carbonate) to form caps that adhere strongly to the concrete while offering sufficient hardness and flatness.

SULPHUR CAPPING METHOD
When testing cylindrical concrete specimens, it is essential that the two ends are perfectly flat and parallel to each other. This equipment allows the ends to be capped using sulphur capping compound.

CAPPING FRAME & MOULDS
The Capping Frame is to aid the alignment of the specimens being capped with Sulphur Compound– must be used in conjunction with the Capping Mould. Use code CAPMOULD100 or CAPMOULD150.
